  • Dr. Vinayakumar’s primary areas of interest include breast oncology, neuro-oncology, gynae oncology, paediatric oncology, immuno-radiotherapy (I-SABR) and thoracic oncology.
  • He has hands-on experience working with conformal techniques like Intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), Volumetric-modulated arc radiotherapy (VMAT), Image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), motion management (deep breath-holding techniques in breast and liver),Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT).
  • His secondary interests include brachytherapy in cervical, endometrial and esophageal malignancies.
  • He is also trained in priming patients of stem cell transplant with Total body irradiation (TBI).
  • He is also experienced in managing patients in regular follow up managing toxicities of on-treatment patients, surveillance of patients post-treatment and addressing their needs helping in rehabilitation.
  • Dr. Vinayakumar has handled more than 3000 cases so far.
  • He secured 3rd rank in the university during his DMRT course.
  • He is a lifetime member of AROI.
  • Dr. Vinayakumar regularly takes part in research work and has many publications to his credit.
  • Principal investigator for "Low dose radiotherapy in Covid-19 pneumonia" - First Radiation Oncologist in Karnataka to start LDRT in Covid-19 Pneumonia - Presently the trial is recruiting patients.
