  • Management of all major childhood cancers, namely leukaemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, brain tumours, bone tumours, Wilms’ tumours, germ cell tumours, soft tissue sarcomas, neuroblastomas and retinoblastomas.
  • Management of blood disorders, such as anaemia, low platelet counts and clotting problems, thalassemias, sickle cell disease, aplastic anaemias, Itp, etc.
  • Administration of bone marrow transplantation - including autologous, allogeneic, haploidentical and cord blood transplants.  
  • Administration of high-dose chemotherapy, Intraventricular chemotherapy and intraperitoneal chemotherapy 
  • Dr. Smitha’s special interest lies in T cell-depleted transplant and haploidentical HSCT. She also has a special interest in the management of Acute and Chronic GVHD.
  • She has performed more than 80 stem cell transplants, including auto, allo, haplo and cord blood transplants.
  • She is also keenly interested in conducting awareness programs for laymen and teaching programs for professionals.
