Introduction

Dr. Poorna Prasad S. is a Consultant Physician and Intensivist with over 18 years of clinical experience spanning general internal medicine, critical care, and hospital-based practice across India, the Middle East, and Europe. His credentials include an MBBS from Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Medical College, Mysore, and an MD in General Medicine from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore.

He has additionally completed the MRCP (Parts I and II) from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, the European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC, Brussels), and the Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) from Narayana Health City, Bangalore.

Dr. Poorna Prasad has held consultant and intensivist roles at Matru Multi-Specialty Hospital, Bangalore, where he has been practicing since 2015. Earlier, he worked as a Junior Consultant Intensivist at Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore, and as a Resident Internist at New Sidrah Medical Center, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has also worked at Mar Gregorios Memorial Muthoot Medical Centre, Kerala, and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Research Centre, New Delhi.

He has served as a Principal Investigator in a Phase III clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of recombinant BCG VPM1002 in reducing COVID-19 infection severity, sponsored by the Serum Institute of India.
